This makes me very sad…U.S. job satisfaction hits 22-year low.
Only 45% of the people polled were happy in their jobs. The survey was first conducted in 1987, and job satisfaction has been steadily declining since then, even in the face of improvements in the work environment such as reduction of hazards and more vacation days.
The survey also reported that almost 25% of those surveyed did not expect to be at their same job in a year. While I hope that means that half of the unhappy people are going to take charge of their own careers and find their passion, I fear it is merely a comment on their lack of confidence in our current economy.
